Islip Horsemen's Association is the host of four Western shows during the season. These wonderful halter and performance horses and riders show and polish their showmanship and smooth transitions before an enthusiastic audience. Committees work hard at putting on a smooth running show. Many divisions to suit the handlers and riders are presented. We have color breed halter and performance classes as well as all age classes. Divisions in junior and adult from beginner to non-pro open. Judges are often brought in from out of state, giving our riders additional advice and encouragement. This is what our club is about.
Any information you would like, will be answered by email.

IHA Western Show
We had our first show of the season last Sunday and it was a great success! We had a total of 51 entered riders! Everyone had a great time. It didn’t seem to bother anyone that we were unable to get a food vendor for the day. Everyone seemed to come prepared and the weather was great! We did however have coffee and breakfast goodies donated by one of our sponsors. It wound up being a long show day with the classes ending around 6:30. Thanks to everyone for being so patient. The rain we had the day before made the rings dust free and easy to work with. There were almost no puddles in the arenas. We would like to give a big Thank You to all that came out and helped us throughout the day.
We had some of our veteran exhibitors and some new faces to the show ring. We can't wait to see you all back for the next show. The kids especially enjoyed the leadline and buckaroo classes. There were smiles from ear to ear on every one of them! It was so cute.
We had an excellent judge. Pam Wuest was great with the riders and gave pointers to those who wanted to learn more and advance their skills. She was a pleasure to work with and we hope to have her back again in the future. We may even have her back to do a clinic with us next year.
Here are the End of Day Results: (We did however have a mistake in the show day results. On our error, we did not tally the command class for amateur adult points so it is correct as follows:

We really enjoyed meeting everyone and now that the stress of putting on our first ever Western Pleasure show is over we are looking forward to the July 27th show.
Thanks to all of you for being so patient and understanding of our learning curve. I think we have everything under control for the next show. (fingers crossed)
